About

The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) is the largest of Connecticut’s nine regional planning organizations.  Established under the Connecticut General Statutes as a voluntary association of municipal governments, CRCOG serves the City of Hartford and its 37 surrounding suburban and rural communities.  CRCOG is dedicated to expanding the concept of voluntary cooperation among its member municipalities as the means to successfully respond to many of the region’s pressing governmental and public challenges.

As an extension of CRCOG’s work on sustainability at the regional level via its Sustainable Capitol Region Initiative and its collaborative efforts under the umbrella of the bi-state Sustainable Knowledge Corridor project, this Clearinghouse was developed to serve as a resource center where towns can:

  • Get basic information on a broad range of green topics, including Green Infrastructure, Access and Mobility, Environment, Economic Growth, Affordable Housing and Food Security
  • Discover exciting sustainability projects and programs in communities across our region and beyond
  • Learn about regional efforts and opportunities to collaborate
  • Find model documents and a toolbox of resources to guide future action
  • Identify potential funding sources
