The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) will again recognize member towns for policies, plans, programs and projects that help promote a more sustainable Capitol Region via its annual Regional Sustainability Awards Program. This year, CRCOG has teamed up with Sustainable CT and will award additional points to nominees who have registered to participate in the new, statewide certification program.
Have you already implemented Complete Streets, invested in brownfield remediation and development, encouraged business creation and growth, taken steps to grow affordable housing options, or committed to reducing energy use in your municipal buildings? If so, we want to know (and you might qualify for Sustainable CT points too)! Let us showcase your sustainability successes, build a library of best practice examples, and reward you for progressive and innovative practices that can be replicated by other communities.
Details on CRCOG’s awards program, including the target project achievement areas (Access and Mobility, Affordable Housing, Economic Growth, Environment, Food Security and Green Infrastructure), the nominations process, eligibility and award criteria, can be found here. Note that nominations will be accepted until May 23, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. and awards will be made at CRCOG’s Annual Meeting on June 13th. Awarded initiatives will be spotlighted on CRCOG’s Green Clearinghouse. For more information, please contact Hedy Ayers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
