CRCOG to Host Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workshop

The Capitol Region Council of Governments and the CRCOG Foundation will host their second workshop as part of a series on Next Generation Economic Development–Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Key Drivers of Job Growth in Connecticut–on Friday, January 29, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Legislative Office Building, Room 2C/ 2nd Floor Atrium, 300 Capitol Avenue in Hartford.  Join us to: learn about national best practices for fostering innovation; hear CT-based entrepreneurs share their successes and challenges; and help identify next steps for local, state and industry leaders to bolster business investment and job growth in Connecticut.

The morning program will feature a keynote from Scott Andes, Senior Policy Analyst, The Brookings Institution (via Skype); presentations from Orville Bailey (Covalent Coating Technologies), Manon Cox (Protein Sciences Corporation), Adam von Gootkin (Onyx Spirits Company, LLC) and James Woulfe (reSET); an Exhibit Hall showcase featuring organizations across the region that support innovation and entrepreneurship; and a reaction panel moderated by Tom Condon. Panelists will include State Senator Steve Cassano, State Senator John Fonfara, State Representative Lonnie Reed, Glendowlyn Thames, Connecticut Innovations and Lindy Lee Gold and Casey Pickett from CT DECD.
