Earth Day Celebrations Scheduled Across Capitol Region

The Canton Parks & Recreation and Department of Public Works will be sponsoring their 1st Annual Spring Clean Up on Saturday, April 23rd, 9 am-12pm (8:30am check-in) at Mills Pond Park Pavilions. Come help celebrate Earth Day and show your community pride.  Volunteers will meet at Mills Pond Park Pavilions at 8:30am for work assignments, coffee and donuts. Groups will help pick up trash throughout Mills Pond Park, Millennium Fields, Dyer Field, Canton High School, Canton Intermediate School grounds, and various town roadways. If volunteers wish to clean up a specific town road they can sign up to do so. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided to all volunteers. Come dressed to work outside and get dirty! We encourage you to bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen. All children must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times throughout the event. Individuals and group volunteers are strongly encouraged to sign up for this event via e-mail to jmedeiros@townofcantonct.org , over the phone at 860-693-5808 or in person at the Parks and Recreation Office.
